Inappropriate Songs for a Wedding #3

A Valentine’s Weekend Iron Maiden special, because that’s the way I roll.

Given the vast field this wasn’t easy and so first a few honourable mentions; Man on the Edge would work, particularly if the groom had a particularly rough Stag Do and is looking a bit dishevelled,  The Thin Line Between Love And Hate would set an encouraging precedent of confusion, distrust and implied schizophrenia while Wasted Years should be the choice of those looking to suck all hope from the wedding.

However, good as those are, we must have a top three. Going primarily on song title but with  lyrics a close second here they are;

  • Bronze Hallowed be thy Name. Some excellent lyrics throughout but the winning verse must be;
    “Can it be that there’s some sort of error.
    Hard to stop the surmounting terror.
    Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?”

    If you can’t laugh at the though of a bride walking up the aisle to these words you are dead on the inside
  • Silver – Run to the Hills.  Self explanatory really. Bonus points if either party does in fact run screaming from the service.
  • Gold – Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter. Well it had to be didn’t it? Platinum award if the Groom announces ‘She’s my wife now Dave’ after the ring goes on, double points if the bride’s father isn’t called Dave.
